Land’s Edge is one of Australia’s leading providers of dynamic and progressive outdoor education experiences for school students and organised groups. Established in 1999, the company’s programs combine curriculum learning, adventure and personal growth.
Currently offering outdoor education programs in the Illawarra region, Murramarang National Park and Kosciuszko National Park, Land’s Edge has expanded to incorporate a Sydney Harbour facility and relevant programs.
Land’s Edge utilises Sydney Harbour waterways, foreshore and bushlands including Sydney Harbour Trust’s lands at Middle Head; North Head and Cockatoo Island. Land’s Edge’s base at Chowder Bay provides accommodation for up to 75 students and staff at a time. Introductory camping opportunities are also offered at Cockatoo Island.
The holistic nature of the Land’s Edge philosophy promotes student learning and achievement on several levels. It therefore allows programs to be implemented that realistically cater for the diverse requirement's schools have for their outdoor education programs.
The Land's Edge philosophy demonstrates the distinct ability to meet many learning outcomes in spite of external factors such as physical abilities, confidence levels, academic prowess, situational circumstances, prior experience or cultural background.
Land’s Edge provides all its outdoor education experiences in a safe, enjoyable and educational context, with students and organised groups guided at every turn by highly experienced and professional staff. Land’s Edge staff adhere to comprehensive safety and risk-management procedures
