Land’s Edge was founded by Fleur Harmelin and Antony Butcher in 1999; both dedicated outdoor education professionals with a special affinity for coastal and alpine environments. They both hold Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Outdoor Education, as well as a Diploma of Education (Secondary Teaching).

With over 30 years combined teaching experience in Australia and overseas, they feel that Australia’s coastal and alpine environments are among the most exciting, mysterious and enjoyable of our environments.

As a result of their teaching experiences Fleur and Antony recognised a need in Australia for students and organised groups to have access to educationally- appropriate outdoor education programs - especially in coastal and alpine environments.
