To accommodate school and other organised groups, Land’s Edge offers two premises.  The first of these is Building 1 at Chowder Bay which provides accommodation for up to 75 students and staff at a time, dormitory-style plus full catering.  The second is Cockatoo Island accommodation which provides an introductory camping experience for up to 50 students.  Here, meals are organised and supervised by Land’s Edge staff with preparation and cooking by the students themselves.

Live sustainably through environmentally responsible practices and behaviour
All Land’s Edge programs teach environmentally responsible practices.  As such, Land’s Edge staff guide schools and organised groups towards sustainable living while they participate in all programs or are accommodated at Chowder Bay and Cockatoo Island.   

Unique Dormitory-Style Accommodation
The fully refurbished facility offers affordable accommodation on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, with views right across the water.  Previously used as Defence Force barracks, the facility features:

• 75 beds (bunkroom style with new beds and bedding; 100% wool carpets etc)
• fully catered or self-catered facilities
• small commercial kitchen
• separate staff bathrooms
• dining room/common room for up to 80 people opening up onto bushland
• audio visual data projector with drop-down large screen/DVD player/laptop/ ipod connections for presentations
• wireless internet
• wheelchair access

While staying at Land’s Edge:

• enjoy Chowder Bay’s outstanding snorkelling site, rich in marine plants and animals
• explore Sydney Harbour foreshore from a sea raft or canoe
• visit the Clifton Gardens parklands and netted swimming area
• venture along the coastal walking tracks through native bushland
• watch the sun rise through the Heads of Sydney Harbour
• star gaze from the private Chowder Bay jetty

• explore Defence fortifications hidden away for more than 100 years
