Sydney Harbour Accommodation - Transport & Directions

Land’s Edge Sydney Harbour is 5km (approx 20 mins) from the Sydney CBD and can be reached by private coach/vehicle or on Sydney Buses (Route 244; 7 days) from Wynyard Station to Chowder Bay.  The bus stop is at the door of the Land’s Edge facility. Land’s Edge can also arrange for groups to travel to and from Chowder Bay by private ferry. 

Paid parking for private vehicles is available at Chowder Bay, but is limited.  Free secure parking (including for coaches) is available at Georges Heights, a five minute bushwalk from Chowder Bay.  The organiser of the group staying at the facility is provided with one free car parking space at the front of the Land’s Edge building.

Land’s Edge can also be reached via a bushwalk from Taronga Zoo or Balmoral Beach.

Groups staying at Land's Edge Sydney Harbour also have the option of travelling to and from the facility via ferry.  Please contact Land's Edge for details.

  DIRECTIONS TO CHOWDER BAY:

  • Drive through the main street of Mosman (Military Road) until you come to a roundabout.
  • Turn left into Middle Head Road (NOT straight ahead through roundabout as this would take you to the Zoo along Bradley’s Head Road).
  • Follow Middle Head Road until the road starts to wind down the hill through the bush.
  • You will see HMAS Penguin, then a sports oval on your left.  Turn right at the oval – this is Chowder Bay Road.
  • Make your way 1.2kms along Chowder Bay Road through the bush.
  • Drive through the gates at Chowder Bay and park in the parking provided to your right, and park as close to the buildings as you can get.
  • Land’s Edge Sydney Harbour is located at Building 1 – the first building on your right after the designated parking area.
