Land’s Edge caters mainly to the Human Society and its Environment (HISE) syllabus for Stages 2 and 3. Within this syllabus we cater to individual schools needs.
Popular Primary programs include:
Rainforest to the Sea
- Students spend several hours in the Minnamurra Rainforest investigating a rainforest ecosystem and finding out where the water in the Minnamurra River begins its journey to the sea.
- The afternoon is spent canoeing the Minnamurra River investigating a mangrove ecosystem and ending at the River Mouth.
- Half day, full day or 2 day programs.
Rock Platform Rambles
- Safe, fun, informative rambles which are designed to help children observe the amazing creatures that make the platforms their home.
- 2 hour sessions
- Located on the rock platforms around Kiama, Gerringong or Gerroa depending on transport and student numbers.
Surf Awareness Session
- Acquire knowledge concerning safety aspects of the surf environment which include;
- Rips and currents
- Sand bars
- Reefs
- Wave types & characteristics
- Learn fundamental surfing techniques for;
- Body Surfing
- Body Boards
- Surf Boards
- General surfing safety
